Write a stock research brief you can verify

A repeatable structure for separating facts, assumptions and unanswered questions.

Set the boundary

List the company or watchlist, reporting period and research question. State the cutoff date for information. A historical investment question must not silently use a filing published after the decision date.

Ask for observations before conclusions

Request a short list of factual observations with direct source links. Label estimates, calculated values and company guidance separately. If a source is unavailable, preserve that gap.

Build a countercase

Ask what evidence would weaken the thesis. A falling valuation multiple, for example, can reflect changing expectations rather than a mispricing. Do not turn a compelling explanation into a certainty about returns.

Keep a reviewable record

Store the original question, the sources consulted, the time of the research and unresolved issues. Compare later revisions against that record. The builder on the homepage creates a starting brief, not a sourced research report.

Sources and next steps

  1. Premiss — official product ↗AI-assisted research, strategy creation and inspectable historical tests.
  2. SEC EDGAR ↗Original US public-company filings; a primary-source reference, not an AI research product.
  3. Premiss — current plans and boundaries ↗Historical research, backtests and paper trading; check current allowances.
